About Us
Our Services
Museum Security is responsible for the overall safety and security of the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, University of Michigan Museum of Art, Museum of Natural History and School of Dentistry.
Our team ensures the safety of guests at hundreds of Museum special events year-round, as well as division-wide security needs such as sporting events, student move-in, Regent’s meetings, graduation ceremonies and other campus events.
Our officers receive a broad range of training including specialized areas such as Certified Institutional Protection Specialists (CIPS), Basic Life Support, AED, First Aid, Emergency Building Response and de-escalation tactics better to protect students, patrons, staff and the collections, while providing excellent customer service and ensuring full accessibility for visitors.
Our Approach
Museum Security promotes the safety of our community by conducting patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, directing and informing visitors, and being prepared in case of an emergency.
Our team collaborates with the museums’ administrations to ensure a culture of respect and professionalism. Museum Security officers provide a safe and secure environment, allowing patrons to fully engage with the art, artifacts and activities of the museums.
