U-M Emergency Alert 08/26/19: Gas Leak

Emergency Alert Overview

All Clear: 6:10 p.m. The gas leak incident at North Quad 105 S State Street has been resolved. The building has been re-occupied and normal vehicle and pedestrian traffic has resumed. Resume normal business.

Update #3: 5:44 p.m. DTE identified the location of the leak as outside North Quad. AAFD cleared North Quad to be reoccupied. State St. has reopened. E. Huron St. remains closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic between State St. and Fletcher. Continue to avoid the area.

Update #2: 4:38 p.m. No injuries reported at this time. North Quad has been evacuated, DTE is on scene assessing. Continue to avoid the area. Roads remain closed.

Update #1: 4:20 p.m. Ann Arbor Fire Department (AAFD) is on scene checking the building. Academic and Residential sides of North Quads are being evacuated. Continue to avoid the area. Multiple roads remain closed at this time.
